ONBOARDING: the mechanism through which new players acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and behaviors to become effective [fill in the blank]

Our adventure playlist begins at The Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center for Technology, Innovation and Creativity at the Orlando Public Library. Our stakeholders will convene around a giant table to share lunch and talk about why education matters.

But this meeting is about more than just talk - it's about adventure! Our stakeholders will be faced with 3 challenges:

  1. launch a micro-drone into the air

  2. hover a micro-drone in place

  3. land a micro-drone in a blue box on the table

  • Bonus: do all three and fly through a stationary hoop

Completing these challenges will be crucial in helping even the most novice drone-piolot the basics of flight control.

MICRO-DRONES ARE "SAFE"

12:50 PM DRONE LAW 101
AT LYNX CENTRAL STATION

The Orange Lymmo bus will take us north to Lynx Central Station.

THIS IS A THING.

Once our stakeholders become familiar with the basic physics of drone flight we will Lymmo to Lynx Central Station to meet with a local attorney who pratices drone law.

This lecture is an intro-crash-course in the latest legal issues surrounding drones in our society. With this knowledge, our stakeholders will be better equipped to fly drones without getting arrested...

1:50 PM DRONE ETHICS THROUGH THE PERFORMING ARTS
AT FERG'S DEPOT

SunRail going south will take us to Church Street Station (Ferg's Depot)

TO DRONE OR NOT TO DRONE.

The word "drone" conjurs up a mixed bag of emotions that differs from person to person. Some folks get excited, some feel confused, others feel fear.

At Ferg's Depot, we will broach a conversation about the morals and ethics of drones through the performing arts.  Stakeholders will be asked to leave their comfort zone and let their drama-side shine.

3:10 PM TAKE FLIGHT
AT THE SENEFF ARTS PLAZA
(AKA THE SANDBOX)

Juice biking is fun and easy! Our team wil juice to the final stage.

THE FINAL STAGE: TAKE FLIGHT

Equipped with basic drone flying skills, legal knowledge, and empathy for drones in our society, our stakeholders are ready to fly! The final stage of our demonstration is in the Seneff Arts Plaza (aka the Sandbox) where we will be greeted by professional drone pilots who will assist us in flying registered drones. For the sake of caution, only the folks who were not able to able to successfully launch, hover, and land a micro-drone in the first stage will be permitted to fly these slightly larger drones. When all is said and done, we will reconvene for final words and go home (before rush hour).
